stevelittleSteven G. Little, Ph.D. was born and raised in suburban Boston. He received his B.S. in Psychology from Tulane University in 1976, his M.S. in Psychology from the University of New Orleans in 1979, and his Ph.D. in School Psychology from Tulane University in 1987. Academically, he has held faculty positions at Hofstra University, California State University Northridge, Northern Illinois University, The University of Alabama, The University at Albany SUNY, University of the Pacific, the University of California, Riverside, and Walden University. He has served as program director at numerous universities. He is currently an associate professor of Educational Psychology at Massey University in Auckland, New Zealand. He has published extensively in the school psychology literature, served as Editor of The School Psychologist from 1995-2000, and was President of the Division of School Psychology of the American Psychological Association in 2002. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and is a licensed psychologist in New York and California in the United States and is a registered psychologist in New Zealand. He is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level (BCBA-D) and holds primary certification in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City. Dr. Little is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) and was the 2009 Jack Bardon Award winner from Division 16 of the APA for Lifetime Service to the profession of School Psychology. His research interests involve the overscheduling of children and youth, behavioral interventions (particularly the use of group contingencies),  cognitive behavior therapy, the effects of extrinsic reinforcement on intrinsic motivation, professional issues in school psychology, and factors contributing to children’s resiliency after natural disasters.

Angeleque Akin-Little GraphicDr. Angeleque Akin-Little was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi. She received her BA in history and California teaching credentials from San Francisco State University in 1988 and 1991 respectively. She received her MA in psychology in 1997 and her Ph.D. in 1999 in School Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi. Academically, she has held positions at Hofstra University, The University at Albany, State University of New York, the University of the Pacific, and Walden University. She is currently the president of Behavioral, Educational, and Research Consultants in Auckland, New Zealand. She has published extensively in the school psychology literature, served on school psychology journal editorial boards, and the executive committee of Division 16 of the American Psychological Association. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and is a licensed psychologist in New York and California (inactive) in the United States and a registered psychologist in New Zealand. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level. Her research interests involve the use of behavioral interventions (particularly the use of group contingencies), the effects of extrinsic reinforcement on intrinsic motivation, professional issues in school psychology, and factors contributing to children’s resiliency post natural disaster trauma.
